The Sunshine Coast’s premier sporting facility will soon deliver international broadcast lighting standards, attracting international and national sports teams to the region. A $7 million upgrade of the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) Sports Stadium on campus at Sippy Downs is under way and is set to add an extra 1000 seats. The new stadium was ready in time for a pre-season game between rugby league teams the Melbourne Storm and Vodafone Warriors on 11 February 2017 to a sold out crowd. With the NRL trial match just around the corner, all hands will be on deck this week laying the final pieces of turf and installing the new LED screen.
