The 2013 Spanish science fiction feature film The Cosmonaut is inspired by accounts of lost cosmonauts. For decades, the USSR denied racing the US to set foot on the moon but records later proved it was trying its hardest. A video has surfaced online, supposedly showing a secret Soviet moon landing. The flight profile to land a Soviet cosmonaut on the lunar surface was similar to the American’s plan for Apollo.
